Flensburg with prestigious win in Nordderby

The classic duel between SG Flensburg-Handewitt and THW Kiel led to home triumph. Flensburg put significant pressure on Kiel´s defense in the second half and scored from multiple positions to 36–33.

The crowd gave Flensburg a standing ovation after the power performance that made Kiel lose the pace. On a special night Jim Gottfridsson, who leaves for Pick Szeged after the season, tha playmaker made sure Flensburg ruled despite missing Simon Pytlick in the lineup.

Gottfridsson was especially involved in the positive period where Flnsburg increased  the lead in the second half. Heavy back court presence provide opening for pivot passes and Lukas Jørgensen took advantage of the opportunities with ten goals. 

The was some extra heat in a duel between Gottfridsson and Eric Johansson leading to a two-minute penalty for the Kiel player. Flensburg used the time wisely, two more goals meant 32–27 on the board and the derby victory was soon confirmed.

SG BBM Bietigheim defeated VfL Potsdam 30–28 for two much needed points, Paco Barthe and Gonzalo Perez Arce was in charge of the deciding goals.

VFL Gummersbach resumed early control without allowing HC Erlangen any excitement in the comeback attempts.
