Star player Tobias Grøndahl leaves GOG for a move to the Bundesliga. The Norwegian playmaker has signed a three-year deal with Füchse Berlin and will replace Paul Drux, who was forced to retire due to injury.
Grøndahl joined Danish side GOG ahead of this season, but his stay in Denmark lasted just one year. The Norwegian international is now confirmed to join German giants Füchse Berlin.
– I feel fantastic. It’s a great honor to play for such an amazing club, alongside so many top players like Mathias Gidsel, Lasse Andersson, and many others. I’m looking forward to playing with them and in front of the fans, and to experiencing Max-Schmeling-Halle at its best. My main goal is always to win everything, said Grøndahl to club website
Following Paul Drux’s retirement in October, Füchse Berlin had been actively searching for a reinforcement in the backcourt. The club has reportedly been monitoring Grøndahl for some time and worked hard to bring him to Berlin.
– With Tobias Grøndahl, we’re getting a very smart and creative player. Over the past few years, he has consistently shown his scoring ability in both league play and the Champions League. His playing style fits us perfectly – he guarantees fast ball movement and strong cooperation with the pivot. I’m very happy we were able to convince him to join us, and that he’ll be part of our journey toward reaching our goals in the coming seasons, said head coach Jaron Siewert.
