Oscar Bergendahl was brought in to Magdeburg last spring as an injury solution. But now it is clear that the Swede will extend his contract until 2026.
– I have settled in very quickly in the last few months and feel at home, the Swede told the club’s website.
Oscar Bergendahl’s career has had a rocket-like development. In 2022, he helped win European Championship gold with the national team and at the beginning of 2023, he was brought in to Magdeburg as a solution when Bennet Wiegert’s team was drawn with a lot of injury problems.
The first half of the year in Magdeburg resulted in a Champions League gold and during the autumn the fine performances have continued and now it is also clear that Bergendahl has signed a longer contract with the club.
On Wednesday, Magdeburg announced that it had agreed to extend the agreement until the summer of 2026, something that was an obvious decision for Bergendahl himself.
– It fills me with great joy and pride to continue my journey here in SC Magdeburg. The club’s trust and the support from the fans mean an incredible amount to me. I have settled in very quickly in the last few months and feel at home. Together, we will continue to work hard to achieve our goals. I look forward to the coming years, he says to the club’s website.
