Berlin back at the top of Bundesliga

Füchse Berlin took a significant step towards the title with two points away versus THW Kiel. SC Magdeburg is still in a joker position and could come from behind while catching up in matches played.

The Wednesday clash saw Berlin make the most of an early lead. Just once the board showed the home team being ahead and Mijajlo Marsenic plus Mathias Gidsel was ready for offensive action to keep the distance in the end. Marsenic was the standout man with ten goals, Geisel and Nils Lichtlein made sure to provide precise passes to create chances.

Kiel had Eric Johansson in super shape but tried in vain for an equaliser in the second half. With a final push, the zebra team created 34–35 in the last minute but had to allow for a Berlin shot to capture the ball and Marsenic made no mistake, 34–46.

Magdeburg is currently fifth in the table or third just taking lost points into account. The high-paced attacks hit TVB Stuttgart hard, Matthias Musche enjoyed sprinting action and Felix Claar ruled from half distance. Sergey Hernandez between the posts stopped the guests repeatedly and Magdeburg ran away to 31–20.
