18 saves by Möstl – Kiel won anyway

Constantin Möstl had himself a game against Kiel. The Austrian goalkeeper had 18 saves in the match against THW Kiel – but Kiel came away with a narrow 23–22 win against TBV Lemgo.

Möstl has had a great season so far. The Austrian has played at a level that has helped Lemgo become a team that can beat basically anybody. And they almost got a great win yesterday against THW Kiel.

Möstl saved 18 shots during the game, for a save percentage of 46 percent. And when Dutch big man Niels Versteijnen dominated at right back with nine goals, Lemgo did put the pressure on Kiel.

But in the end, Kiel was a bit sharper than Lemgo, and the individual quality in the away side was a bit higher. Like so many times before this season, it was Eric Johansson (five goals and two assists) and Emil Madsen (six goals and two assists) that made the difference. And Andreas Wolff was great in goal with 18 saves.
