Paris Saint-Germain dropped a point at Dunkerque to make HBC Nantes the standalone leader in Starligue. Despite high pressure in the second half, the capital team lost the plot towards the end while Dunkerque cheered loudly after the surprising result, 27 all.
Nantes had two weekend points in the bag at the start of Sunday action. In the exciting duel in Dunkerque it was still quite clear that PSG couldn’t get their attacking game going.
Kamil Syprzak had great success from the pivot and seven metre position, otherwise there were back court setbacks and mistakes overall. Dunkerque got closer to maximum capacity and managed to hold the top team back, PSG had just one two-goal-lead (18–20) during the second half.
With two minutes to go Gautier Crepel equalised, 27–27. The final shots were unproductive including the PSG effort against the clock counting down from 20 seconds and a free throw missing the mark.
Chambery Savoie defended a huge lead in the second half versus Ivry. The final score, 35–25 leaves Chambery well ahead, four points over of the relegation team while Ivry is in obvious trouble on the very last position with a mere three points after 16 games.
