PSG eye Parrondo move despite Madsen deal: “Rumours gaining momentum”

Paris Saint-Germain Handball are reportedly targeting Roberto García Parrondo for 2027, despite Stefan Madsen only just being appointed. According to HandNews, citing German outlet Sport Bild, the Spanish coach has emerged as a serious candidate amid growing uncertainty in Paris.

The French giants are reassessing their long-term project after a disappointing season by their standards. As reported by HandNews, PSG’s struggles in Europe have reignled internal discussions, with Parrondo now linked to the club despite being under contract at MT Melsungen.

Parrondo’s profile fits what PSG are searching for. The Spaniard, who led RK Vardar to a surprise Champions League title in 2019, has since impressed with Egypt’s national team and continued his rise in the Bundesliga. His work at Melsungen, where the club has progressed steadily in both domestic and European competitions, has reportedly caught the attention of the Paris board, according to HandNews.

The timing, however, raises questions. Stefan Madsen began his tenure as PSG coach in July 2025 on a two-year deal, making any early replacement a controversial signal about the club’s stability. At the same time, Melsungen are unlikely to let their head coach leave easily while under contract.

For now, no parties have confirmed the interest. Still, as highlighted by HandNews, the rumours underline PSG’s ongoing search for a formula that can finally deliver European success.
