Paris Saint-Germain and HBC Nantes were most involved in the duel for top position in Starligue last season. Now, the 2025/26 title race is well underway and the duo keeps adding points to their new quest.
Reigning champion PSG had some problems against Nimes while Nantes managed their Sunday task slightly easier.
Some attempts to pull away didn’t stick for PSG who had to make do with 18–17 at half-time. The effect of sending in Luc Steins from the start of the second half had greater effect and PSG got a 4–0-boost. Still, Nimes refused to be defeated and closed almost all of the gap.
Kamil Syprzak powered through for the capital team and Elohim Prandi could celebrate his 1 000th goal in the top flight within the scope of the 31–29 victory.
PSG joined Montpellier HB on six points with Limoges HB and Nantes just the one point. Nantes made a comeback after a slow start and made a huge mark to change 6–9 to 15–9. Ivan Pesic stopped a lot of Istres shots and the duo Thibaud Brier and Aymeric Minne had the creativity to create a lot of space in attacks for Nantes.
