EHF President Michael Wiederer will continue to lead European handball for another four years after being confirmed in office. The 69-year-old Austrian enters his third term, covering the 2025–2029 period.
Wiederer was first elected president at the EHF Congress in 2016, following a long tenure as the federation’s Secretary General dating back to 1992.
Alongside Wiederer, 1st Vice President Predrag Boskovic (MNE) and Vice President Finances Henrik La Cour (DEN) were also re-elected for their third terms, extending their leadership roles that began in 2016.
The congress further confirmed the chairs of the EHF’s three technical commissions: Bozidar Djurkovic (SRB) will continue to lead the Competitions Commission, Pedro Sequeira (POR) remains head of the Methods Commission, and Gabriella Horvath (HUN) stays on as chair of the Beach Handball Commission – all until 2029.
Meanwhile, the composition of the Executive Committee (EXEC) features both continuity and new names. Stefan Lövgren (SWE) was re-elected, while Mesut Cebi (TUR), Tjark de Lange (NED), and Randi Heggemsnes (NOR) were elected for the first time.
