Krems crowned champion in Austria

It took UHK Krems two finals to go for gold. The winner of the HLA won the championship for the sixth time in the club history, defeating Alpla HC Hard 25–23 in the deciding final.

Alpla Hard was the team to beat after the league stage and Krems did just that to lift the trophy on home ground. Krems latest triumph was in 2022, after two years of missing the final there was no stopping the team with coach Ibish Thaqi.

– It was an open game; it could have gone either way. We were a bit luckier at the end. They were two very good games. We played a bit harder and fought incredibly hard in defense, he said to the club webpage.

The teams were separated by two goals in both finals. The Friday version had Krems in a small lead after a nervous start. Luca Munzinger produced six times as Krems best goal scorer. Even after a save from Golub Doknic in the final minute Krems could keep the ball and continued to attack until Daniel Dicker found the net for the winning goal.
