Fresh off Metz Handball’s historic Champions League triumph, Sarah Bouktit headlines the women’s nominees after a remarkable season at both ends of the court. The French international was one of the driving forces behind Metz’s success and is expected to be among the favourites.
CSM Bucuresti’s Tatjana Brnovic, Gloria Bistrita’s Lorena Ostase, Odense’s Lysa Tchaptchet, DVSC Schaeffler’s Petra Tóvizi and Brest’s Onacia Ondono are also nominated.
The men’s category features several familiar names
Magnus Saugstrup continued to anchor SC Magdeburg’s defence, while Barcelona’s Luís Frade finished the season as one of Europe’s most complete line players. Aalborg’s Felix Möller also enjoyed a breakthrough year at the highest level.
Flensburg captain Johannes Golla, Szeged veteran Bence Bánhidi and PSG star Kamil Syprzak complete the shortlist.
It is one of the most competitive categories in this year’s awards.
