HØJ Elite’s ambitions appear to be growing by the day. According to new reports from Denmark (Rygtebørs), the ambitious club is now targeting one of Scandinavian handball’s most respected coaches: Stefan Madsen.
The former Aalborg Håndbold head coach is currently in his first season at French giants PSG, where he is under contract until 2027.
However, Danish outlet Rygtebørs reports that discussions are taking place behind the scenes regarding a future move to HØJ. According to the report, the goal would be to bring Madsen to the club no later than the summer of 2027.
The report also suggests that a deal could potentially materialise even earlier, although no official confirmation has been provided by either party.
HØJ have attracted significant attention in recent years through major investments and an aggressive recruitment strategy. Despite suffering relegation from the Danish top flight after just one season, the club has continued to signal its long-term ambitions of becoming a major force in Scandinavian handball.
For now, Madsen remains under contract with PSG, but the speculation adds another intriguing chapter to the growing HØJ project.
