Nora Mørk injured and taken to hospital after Team Esbjerg win

Team Esbjerg secured a comfortable 37–23 victory over Horsens on Wednesday, but the result was overshadowed by an injury to Norwegian star Nora Mørk, who was later taken to hospital for an X-ray.

Mørk started the game on the bench but was introduced early in the first half. Shortly afterwards, she was forced off after appearing to twist her ankle in a collision with a referee while changing. The 35-year-old was left in pain on the court and needed assistance to leave the playing area. According to Danish reports, Mørk was later taken to hospital for an X-ray.

An ankle injury is suspected, but there is currently no information about the extent of the injury or how long Mørk could be sidelined.

The incident also affected Team Esbjerg, according to head coach Tomas Axnér.

“It affected us a little and we were also a bit shaken after what happened. The players didn’t know what had happened either, so that was part of the reason,” Axnér said.

Team Esbjerg nevertheless took control of the game after half-time. The hosts led 17–14 at the break before pulling away in the second half, limiting Horsens to just nine goals. Helene Kindberg led the scoring for Esbjerg with 10 goals, while Henny Reistad added six.

Team Esbjerg are now facing a crucial Champions League test on Sunday, when CSM Bucuresti visit Denmark. Whether Mørk will be available for that game remains unclear.
