GOG has some ups and downs during the autumn season. After surprising player losses and a coach who left after just two months the club has some stability in sight. Kasper Christensen is ready to take over as coach from 2024/25.
GOG´s website confirms the news, first revealed by TV2. To achieve the four year-deal with Christensen, GOG had to negotiate with Ikast HB to terminate his existing contract.
Christensen will start his work in GOG in July 2024, until then the temporary coach Thomas Brandt Nyegaard will stay with the team.
GOG´s incoming coach comes from good experiences with Ikast, who won the women’s European League 2022/23.
The reigning danish champions has been in some turbulence since Nicolej Krickau opted to leave for SG Flensburg-Handewitt. His successor, Ian Marko Fog didn’t manage many steps until he had to leave just after the CL premiere.
– GOG is solid sport force in Denmark and I iimmediately that I would like to accept the challenge together with the team.
– I absolutely have ambitions for us to win something. We will battle for titles and perform well in the european tournaments, says Christensen to GOG´s website.
