Oli Mittun´s signature was not the only good Saturday news for GOG. The Danish giant can lean on six straight wins in the local league, including a consistent high level and 33–27 over rival Aalborg HB.
GOG´s triumph in splendid isolation means that Aalborg trails four point behind. Further more, the quick attacks from Alexander Blonz and Tobias Grøndahl, combined with Aalborg’s technical fault soon destroyed the excitement in the duel.
Obviously, the home fans were delighted by the fast breaks and the solid defense. Quite a few injuries acted detrimental for Aalborg but the players on court was not enough. Aleks Vlah turned out to be the lone threat from the back court and Jack Thurin scored five times on penalties.
– We are really happy. Not only do we play well, we also played incredibly stable. We have very few dips in the game and we show a lot of coolness.
– I think we are good, today we outperform Aalborg from match minute six or seven, said GOG coach Kasper Christensen in post-game comment to TV2.
