Aalborg defended the gold

Aalborg HB outmaneuvered Skjern HB in two straight finals. In the gold medal game, Sander Sagosen powered through and Felix Möller was rock solid with every attempt. Ålborg won their eighth gold and the second in a row because of 29–26 away.

The Ålborg supporters and the red and white team that had made the over two-hour trip to the southwest got to celebrate in style. Skjern led early on, but Fabian Norsten gradually got hold of the shots. A save led to a Lukas Nilsson goal and 9–10 gave the guests more of the initiative

The reigning champion was simply a little bit better. Aalborg started the second half by pulling away to 15–18 on the scoreboard, Möller arranged a five-goal lead on fast break in the 38th minute.

It was certainly not the golden opportunity, more fastbreaks were needed to keep Skjern away in the hunt for an equalizer with around ten minutes left.

The final phase was pleasant, however for Aalborg. Sagosen (six goals) kept Skjern from any final comeback and Ålborg got several minutes to prepare for the big golden cheer.

There were many winners in the match, Martin Larsen and Henrik Møllgaard ended their careers and long-term stays in Ålborg by raising the trophy one final time as prominent players.
