Aalborg Håndbold are reportedly close to signing THW Kiel playmaker Elias Ellefsen á Skipagøtu. The Faroese international could make the move from Germany to Denmark ahead of next season.
According to TV 2 Sport, Aalborg Håndbold are close to reaching an agreement with THW Kiel’s Elias Ellefsen á Skipagøtu.
The 24-year-old playmaker has been strongly linked with the Danish champions throughout September, and the latest information suggests that the transfer is now nearing completion. The deal is reportedly not fully finalised yet.
Skipagøtu joined THW Kiel in 2023 after three seasons with Swedish club IK Sävehof. In 2024, he was named Young World Handballer of the Year, while he has also been a key player for the Faroe Islands at the European Championships in 2024 and 2026.
The playmaker’s current contract with Kiel is understood to run until the summer of 2027, meaning Aalborg would potentially have to reach an agreement with the Bundesliga club to bring the transfer forward.
