Thierry Anti appointed Tunisia head coach

The Tunisian Handball Federation has confirmed the appointment of Thierry Anti as the new head coach of the national team, with the Frenchman signing a deal running until 2028.

Anti will officially take charge on April 1, combining the role with his upcoming position at C’Chartres Métropole Handball. The experienced coach, who has previously led clubs such as Créteil, Paris, Nantes, Sporting CP and PAUC, will now take charge of a national team for the first time in his career.

“This is a long story with Tunisia. We have been in contact several times before. When the president presented the project again, I accepted it willingly,” Anti said according to handnews.

The agreement initially covers a two-year period, with key objectives including the World Championship in Germany, the 2028 Africa Cup of Nations, and qualification for the Olympic Games.

The Tunisian federation has approved Anti’s dual role, allowing him to continue his club career alongside his national team duties.

“He agreed that I could remain a club coach, so there is no issue with my commitment to Chartres,” Anti explained.
