French Men’s league preview: Favorites, Stars & Storylines

The French league is approaching the start of the season, and with the help of expert Kevin Domas we take a closer look at the men’s league. Who will win the league? Which player will stand out?

Which team will win the league this season and why?
– PSG still have the best squad with the most experience, and a new coach and new players which will give them a new boost. Signing a few new players will also give Paris more options than they had last season, while Nantes and Montpellier seem like they have not gotten much stronger in the summer.

Which player will stand out?
– I do think Nantes’ Aymeric Minne will have another great season. He likes to take responsibility and it seems like, for his last season with the club, he might be the league’s MVP.

Which player will have his big breakthrough?
– Moving from Montpellier to Paris will put Sebastian Karlsson even more in the spotlight. In my opinion, he was very much underrated until now, but now being number one on his position in a Champions League team, he will show that he is one of the best right-wingers in the world.

Which player, team or event will be the most disappointing?
– I guess that the whole league is not going to be really interesting. Montpellier lost their best player to Veszprem and did not sign any major reinforcement. Paris will probably win the league easier than they did last season and with the Champions League’s reshaping, France will probably get three tickets for 2026. Meaning that the most interesting battle will be for fourth place…

What are you looking forward to the most?
– Seeing how Paris can develop with Stefan Madsen will be very interesting.
