The Faroe Islands were extremely close to beating the Netherlands in the Men’s 2026 Euros qualifications in Torshavn, but the game ended with a draw, 32–32. Here is a round-up of all of the games from Wednesday.
Denmark, Norway, and Sweden will co-host the 2026 Men’s European Championship. The three hosting nations are already qualified for the tournament, and France is the winner of the 2024 Euros and also qualified.
But which teams from Europe will join those four nations in the competition? Yesterday, the third round of the group phase took place in different arenas around Europe. The most exciting game? The one against the Faroe Islands and the Netherlands in Torshavn. The Faroe Islands charmed all of Europe in the last Euros back in January 2024 and are looking to repeat in 2026.
But to do so, they need a couple of big results in the qualification phase. And they were close to getting one against the Netherlands, but ultimately the game ended with a draw, 32–32.
All of the results from Wednesday’s matches:
Czech Republic – Croatia 29–35
Estonia – Lithuania 20–30
Greece – Iceland 25–34
Montenegro – Hungary 26–29
Turkey – Switzerland 34–38
Luxembourg – Belgium 22–32
North Macedonia – Slovenia 26–32
