It may not be the fastest handball or the most athletic bodies on display, but there seems to be no shortage of joy on the court. Videos from Odesa in southern Ukraine show a group of grey-haired men who are still keeping their handball careers alive.
Sport bringing people of different generations together is nothing new. But the location adds another dimension to these images. Odesa has lived under the threat of Russia’s full-scale invasion, launched in February 2022. Even in a country at war, handball goes on.
