Emil Nielsen could leave Veszprém after just one season, with SG Flensburg-Handewitt reportedly in negotiations with the Danish goalkeeper ahead of a potential move in the summer of 2027.
According to Danish Instagram account Rygtebørs, citing its own information and several Hungarian sources, Flensburg are in talks with Nielsen over a possible transfer as early as next summer.
The Danish international only recently joined Veszprém on a three-year contract running until 2029. A move to the Bundesliga would therefore see the world-class goalkeeper leave Hungary after just one season.
The rumours come amid reports of significant tax changes in Hungary from 2027. According to Daniasport.hu, the country’s new government plans to tighten the tax rules for highly paid athletes, limiting the benefits of the current preferential tax regime.
Such changes could increase the financial burden on Hungarian clubs seeking to retain their biggest stars, potentially providing further context for the speculation surrounding Nielsen’s future.
Neither a potential transfer nor the reported negotiations have been officially confirmed.
