Lemgo stun Füchse Berlin with away victory

TBV Lemgo Lippe pulled off a surprise in the Bundesliga on Sunday, beating Füchse Berlin 37–36 away from home. Despite trailing by two goals at half-time, Lemgo fought back to claim a dramatic victory and hand the Berlin side their first home defeat of the season.

Füchse Berlin got off to a slow start as Lemgo took advantage of several early turnovers to establish a 7–3 lead. The hosts gradually found their rhythm in attack, however, turning the game around and heading into half-time with a 19–17 advantage.

Berlin continued to find the net after the break, but defensive errors allowed Lemgo to work their way back into the contest. The visitors eventually moved ahead at 28–27 midway through the second half, setting up a tense finish.

With the game hanging in the balance, Lemgo kept their composure in the closing stages. Niels Versteijnen proved decisive, scoring to put the visitors two goals ahead with just 31 seconds remaining. Berlin managed to stay within reach, but Lemgo held on to secure a memorable 37–36 win.

Tim Freihöfer led the scoring for Berlin with 14 goals, while Mathias Gidsel added ten. Despite their impressive individual performances, the hosts were left empty-handed as Lemgo celebrated a valuable away victory.
