Kristjánsson best playmaker in Champions League

Gísli Kristjánsson finished as the leading playmaker in the EHF Champions League, topping the assist charts with a commanding advantage over the rest of the competition.

While goals often grab the headlines, Gísli Kristjánsson once again proved how influential he is as a creator.

The SC Magdeburg star recorded 84 assists during the Champions League season, finishing well clear of Paris Saint-Germain’s Luc Steins, who claimed second place with 62.

Barcelona winger Blaz Janc completed the top three with 61 assists, narrowly ahead of Füchse Berlin superstar Mathias Gidsel on 59.

One of the standout performers in the rankings was Kolstad’s Simon Jeppsson. The Swedish international finished fifth overall with 56 assists, underlining his importance as both a scorer and creator for the Norwegian champions.

Several of Europe’s biggest stars featured prominently among the leading playmakers, including Elohim Prandi, Kiko Costa, and Ahmed Hesham.
