Nina Engel emerged as the Bundesliga Women’s top scorer after finishing the season with 164 goals for HSG Bensheim/Auerbach.
The 24-year-old finished well clear of the chasing pack, led by Silje Brons Petersen and Borussia Dortmund star Alina Grijseels.
Several established international players were expected to dominate the ranking, making Engel’s success one of the season’s surprises.
