One of the hottest names in Danish handball could already have his future sorted. According to Danish outlet RYGTEBØRS, Aalborg Håndbold have reached an agreement to sign playmaker Mads Svane from Bjerringbro-Silkeborg in the summer of 2027.
The report claims that everything is already in place behind the scenes, with Aalborg securing one of the most sought-after young backcourt players in the league.
The 23-year-old has emerged as one of the breakout stars of Danish handball over the last two seasons. After making his name at Mors-Thy, Svane joined Bjerringbro-Silkeborg ahead of the 2025/26 season and quickly established himself as one of the league’s most productive playmakers.
His numbers this season have been outstanding. Earlier this spring, Svane had already recorded 215 goals and 174 assists for BSH, while also earning his senior Denmark debut and appearing at EHF EURO 2026.
Interestingly, Svane recently stated that he expected to fulfil his contract with Bjerringbro-Silkeborg through 2027, although he also admitted that no final decision regarding his long-term future had been made.
If the reported move becomes official, Aalborg would be adding one of Denmark’s most creative young playmakers to a backcourt that is already packed with international quality. The club continues to plan aggressively for the future as it looks to remain among Europe’s elite.
