Renārs Uščins set for Paris Saint-Germain move in 2027

German international Renārs Uščins has decided on his next career step, with a transfer to Paris Saint-Germain Handball lined up for the summer of 2027, according to BILD.

According to reports, the 23-year-old right back has already signed a contract with the French giants running until 2030. His current deal with TSV Hannover-Burgdorf remains valid until June 30, 2027, meaning he will complete the next season in the Bundesliga before making the move.

Uščins, who was named Germany’s Handball Player of the Year in 2024, has rapidly established himself as one of the top backcourt players in Europe. He also played a key role in Germany’s silver-medal campaigns at both the 2024 Olympics and the 2026 EHF EURO.

The move to Paris is seen primarily as a sporting step, with the club competing regularly for major titles and offering Champions League handball. Financial aspects, including favorable tax conditions in France for foreign players, are considered a secondary factor rather than the main reason behind the decision.

Paris Saint-Germain, one of Europe’s leading clubs, will add another high-profile name to its roster with Uščins, while Hannover-Burgdorf will need to plan for life without their star player from 2027 onwards.
