Yvette Broch joins Brest for the remainder of the season

Brest Bretagne Handball have signed Dutch international Yvette Broch as a medical joker for the rest of the season, following Pauletta Foppa’s absence due to pregnancy.

The French side moves quickly to reinforce the pivot position after Foppa—one of the team’s key players in recent years—announced she will step away from competition. The club has extended its congratulations and full support as she begins this new chapter.

To maintain stability in the squad, Brest has turned to experience at the highest level, bringing in Broch, a well-established name in European handball and a former standout in top continental competitions.

Experience to strengthen the squad

Broch arrives with a strong international pedigree and is expected to provide immediate impact during the crucial final stretch of the season.

“I’ve had the opportunity to work with Raphaëlle before, and we shared some great moments together. So when she asked if I could help her and the team for the last three months of the season, I was very happy to say yes,” Broch said.

“There are also personal reasons why coming to Brest felt like the right decision for me. I haven’t played for quite some time, so my goal is simply to give 100 percent every day and do everything I can to help the team.”

With key matches ahead, Brest adds both depth and experience as they aim to remain competitive on all fronts during the closing phase of the campaign.
