Heavy blow for Norway – Reinkind out of Euro 2026

Norway’s handball team faces a major setback as star right back Harald Reinkind is forced to leave the squad due to injury, just weeks before the Men’s European Championship begins.

Reinkind sustained a tear in the connective tissue under his foot in December, and after medical examinations it was clear that rest is required to allow the injury to heal. The 30-year-old will miss the Golden League and Euro 2026.

Simen Schønningsen (HØJ Elite) has been called up as Reinkind’s replacement and will partner with Patrick Helland Anderson at right back. While promising, the pair lacks the experience of previous lineups that featured seasoned players such as Reinkind, Bjørnsen, and Tønnesen, presenting a new challenge for Norway as they prepare for their home matches at Unity Arena.
