Johanna Bundsen joins Odense in major transfer move: “Inspiring”

It’s now official: Johanna Bundsen will depart Metz at the end of the current campaign. The Swedish international has put pen to paper with Odense, a move the Danish club confirmed in a press release.

– I am glad to play in Odense next season, where I can continue my development. I have had some really good conversations with the club, and their ambitions were both inspiring and exciting for me to be able to contribute to, Bundsen said in the announcement by the club.

Bundsen has been regarded as one of the world’s top goalkeepers in recent years. After a standout season with HB Ludwigsburg, the turmoil within the German club pushed her towards Metz – where she has emerged as one of the Champions League’s best performers this autumn.

But her future will not be in France. The 34-year-old has instead committed to Odense, who have secured her services on a two-year contract.

– Johanna is an experienced goalkeeper who I am sure will help us reach the goals and ambitions the club has, said director Lasse Honoré.
