Veszprém, Barcelona and GOG secure spots in Youth Final Four

While Barcelona’s senior team suffered another defeat on Wednesday, their youth side has delivered. The club’s U18 team triumphed over Paris Saint-Germain in the group final of the EHF Youth Club Trophy and secured a spot in the tournament finals, joining GOG and Telekom Veszprém in the final four.

Since Tuesday, qualification tournaments have been held across Hungary, Spain, Germany, and Romania. The winner of each group earns a ticket to the prestigious final weekend at the TruckScout24 EHF FINAL4, scheduled for 14–15 June 2025.

Telekom Veszprém were the first to book their place, defeating HC Vojvodina and later Pick Szeged in the group final. The standout player was Máté Gáncs-Peto, who netted 12 goals in the final. Gáncs-Peto has made one appearance with the senior squad in the EHF Champions League this season.

Barcelona followed, overcoming HBC Nantes before defeating PSG in the group final. Interestingly, it wasn’t a Spaniard who topped the scoring charts – it was Sweden’s Hannes Nilsson, who moved to Spain ahead of the season.

The third spot was claimed by Danish side GOG.

The fourth and final place will be decided on Friday in a showdown between CS Dinamo Bucuresti and HC Eurofarm Pelister.
