The future of handball is set to shine in Cologne. After four thrilling qualification tournaments, Barça, GOG, Veszprém, and Pelister have claimed their spots in the first-ever EHF Youth Club Trophy. These rising stars will now take the stage at LANXESS Arena during the EHF FINAL4 Men 2025 – sharing the spotlight with the sport’s elite.
Veszprém: First to punch their ticket
Hungarian giants Telekom Veszprém were the first to qualify, cruising through their group in Celje. They beat both Füchse Berlin and hosts RK Celje Pivovarna Laško, finishing the weekend unbeaten.
Their final game – a dominant 34-25 win over Celje – showcased their physical edge and tactical maturity. With key players like Máté Dömötör and Levente Kuklis leading the charge, Veszprém made it clear they’re not just participating in Cologne – they’re coming to win.
GOG: Danish talent on display
GOG topped the Kolding group after three commanding performances against IK Sävehof, RK Zagreb, and hosts KIF Kolding.
Even when the first halves were tight, GOG showed another gear after the break – using pace, calm decision-making, and clinical finishing to pull away. Their final win over Kolding (35-29) sealed a perfect run and confirmed their status as a serious contender.
Barça: Smooth and ruthless at home
In front of a home crowd, Barça made no mistakes. They swept past Paris Saint-Germain and Elverum, combining beautiful ball movement with trademark Catalan control.
The standout result was a 35-26 win over Elverum, where Barça’s youth team looked every bit like their senior counterparts – composed, quick, and relentless.
Pelister: Drama and glory in Group 4
The final ticket to Cologne was claimed by HC Eurofarm Pelister, who emerged from a hotly contested Group 4 with a clutch performance on the final day.
Their 37-36 victory over Dinamo Bucuresti on Thursday night secured first place and sent the Macedonian side to the FINAL4. In a game full of twists, Pelister held their nerve when it mattered most – a huge moment for the club and its promising young talents.
