In little over a month, the Women’s World Cup 2023 in Sweden, Denmark, and Norway will kick off. Now, manager Tomas Axnér has selected the squad of 18 players who will chase gold on home soil.
Sweden will begin the championship with matches in Gothenburg against China, Senegal, and Croatia. If the national team progresses from there, the main round (also in Gothenburg) awaits before a potential quarterfinal and more in Danish Herning.
On Friday, Tomas Axnér announced the World Cup squad that will attempt to bring a World Cup medal to Sweden. The surprises in the squad were Irma Schjött, Sofia Hvenfelt, and Daniela de Jong.
