Nora Mørk is one of Norway´s standout players, and perhaps the best. VG reports that the star player will be absent from tonight´s World Cup premiere against Greenland.
Norway is widely considered one of the favorites in the tournament, not only against Greenland but throughout the championship. During a press conference preceding the World Cup premiere in Stavanger, coach Thorir Hergeirsson revealed that Mørk along with Marie Davidsen, will not be part of tonight´s lineup.
– It´s a long championship, and Nora is a crucial player for us. She has been active in Esbjerg throughout the fall and is in top form, said Hergeirsson, as reported by VG.
Thorir Hergeirsson expressed that the decision is rooted in the team´s ambition to go far in the World Cup. With Greenland as tonight´s opponent, a relatively unknown adversary, the Norwegian team aims to secure victory in the opening match.
