Denmark is heading into the final phase of the World Cup. Then you can count on strong support from the Danish population. The championship has been followed by millions of people during the main round.
Jesper Jensen’s Danish team has stormed forward during the WC and is now in the quarter-finals where they face Montenegro.
But despite the fact that the matches so far have not been win-or-go home stories, the Danish team has had tremendous support, both on site in Herning – but also from home.
Over a million
The website Europamester states that figures from the analysis agency Nielsen show that Denmark’s match against Germany was followed by a record number of 1,276,000 people from home. A figure which, according to the Europamester, is the highest so far for the Danish women’s national team.
In addition, it was Denmark’s fourth match with more than one million television viewers, where, for example, the meeting with Poland was up to 1,116,000 television viewers.
