Denmark and Jesper Jensen have chosen 16 players for the Euro 2024 campaign. A solid surprise occurred in the goalkeeper selection – Sandra Toft is not included.
Anna Kristensen and Althea Reinhardt from Team Esbjerg and Odense HB respectively prepares for the group stage in Switzerland. But Sandra Toft who has participated in all major championships except for two since 2011 is left behind.
The coach also settles for 16 players in the squad – no reserve is included. Helene Kindberg Hansen and Stine Eiberg Jørgensen are final round debutants but profiles as Louise Burgaard, Mette Tranborg and Kathrine Heindahl will not be seen in December action.
– We are blessed with enough good players in Denmark to be able to field a strong EC squad without some of our most experienced players. The next in line are to that extent ready to take over and the players that we have selected for the European Championship represent a promising future for Danish handball, says Jensen to the federation website.
