Spanish teams have won three of the last four editions of the EHF European Cup. With the quarter-final round, three Spanish teams remain in the race. Two of team, BM Granollers and Rocasa Gran Canaria will face each other after the draw Tuesday.
Gran Canaria have won the title three times. The island team hasn´t fared well in the Spanish league and must shape up before facing Granollers in the doubleheader, 9/10 March and 16/17 March.
Potential semifinal pairings was also concluded by the EHF draw. Portugese Benfica or Turkish challenger Armada Praxis Yalikavaspor are set for Spanish opposition. On the other half, four teams from for different countries have one final ticket in sight.
Slovak side Iuventa Michalovce made it to semifinal last season whereas Cabooter HB from the Netherlands eliminated teams from North Macedonia, Bosnia and Croatia to reach top eight.
The third Spanish contender, BM Elche will likely start as favorite against North Macedonian HC Gjorche Petrov when the international schedule resume within one and a half month.
