Vipers Kristiansand avoids bankruptcy – new board to be appointed

In an extraordinary turn of events Vipers Kristiansand decided against filing for bankruptcy. In the very last monday minute, a group of local investors pushed for a conclusion to run the club pending an annual meeting next Monday.

– Before Vipers have gone to the grave, we have been resurrected, says the club chairman Peter Gitmark to TV2.

In the wake of the decision to end the handball venture who won three CL titles 2021-23 a couple of local investors, some of which previous sponsors, showed a sincere and strong interest to save the club.

– As a board, we could not implement yesterday’s board decision on bankruptcy and a tender request today if we knew that one or more people wanted to take over the club. It has meant that today there was a counter notification and that I can rather stand here with a big smile on my face.

– We believe this could result in the club’s continued operation permanently, says Gitmark according to TV2.
