Katrine Lunde, world class keeper and Norwegian icon has opted for Odense HB to keep her career afloat. Since the fall of Vipers Kristiansand, Lunde has searched for a new club and Odense solves the spring season calendar.
– I´m incredibly proud for this opportunity to play for one of the best handball teams in the world and I’m looking forward to play my first home game in Sydbank Arena, she says to the club webpage.
Playing handball for more than 25 years, Lunde has performed for Danish clubs before. Aalborg allowed her a debut abroad and Viborg set the bar for a Champions League winning campaign in double editions.
Titles goes hand in hand with Lunde´s professional life. As a joker option to improve Odense´s defensive capacity even further, the 44-year-old arrives at a club who leads the Danish league with maximum points.
The contract will last until the end of the season.
– Katrine Lunde is a true winner soul with a huge experience that for certain will benefit us for the rest of the season. Adding Katrine to our squad strengthens our team by a mule, we also tend to our current goalkeeper trio, says Odense´s sports director Trine Nielsen to the club webpage.
For two months, Odense has coped with Althea Reinhardt´s concussion, by giving more minutes to Yara Ten Holte with the youngster Andrea Nørklit as a support.
It is still uncertain when Reinhardt can return to play.
