Györ got their Champions League campaign off to a winning start with a dominating 26–23 win against Podravka.
It was a very one-sided first half as Györ took on Podravka in the first game of the EHF Champions League group stage. Györ had full control defensively and completely shut down the Podravka attack to build an early lead.
