With an eleven-goal lead from the first leg, Esbjerg had no problems in the return match against Podravka. Despite not playing particularly well, the Danish side secured a 31–29 win and advanced comfortably to the next round.
There was never any real drama in the second leg between Esbjerg and Podravka. Esbjerg struggled somewhat in the first half, and it was actually Podravka who led 16–15 after 30 minutes.
However, with their big advantage from the first leg, there was never any real pressure on the Danish side. After a strong finish, Esbjerg also managed to win the second match.
The star of the game was Elin Hansson, who scored nine goals from the left wing.
In the quarter-finals, Esbjerg will face Romanian side Bucuresti.
