Official: CSM Bucharest and Adrian Vasile part ways

Local media picked up the news early on. Adrian Vasile will move on from CSM Bucharest and the club appoints another coach in aim to return to Final four in Champions League.

In an official announcement, Bucharest underlines that the quarterfinal exit is the overshadowing reason to end the cooperation. Domestically CSM won both the Romanian Cup and the national league, but the contract stands clear regarding international performance.

Vasile was assistant coach to Per Johansson when CSM last made it to Final four (2018), During his five years as head coach, Bucharest qualified for quarter finals every year. The 41-year-old led the time for the last time a week ago versus SCM Craiova.

– I am proud of the ten years I worked at CSM Bucharest. Here I was able to experience all aspects of the coaching profession and accumulated a fantastic experience.
