Nadine Szöllösi-Schatzl will play for Metz HB until the end of the season. The Hungarian left winger arrives at the CL side as a medical joker.
Metz has likely reinforced the 2024/25 squad for the last time. This time due to happy circumstances. Chloé Valentini announced her pregnancy in February and has left handball for family reasons in the upcoming months.
Szöllösi-Schatzl replaces the expecting mother. The 31-year-old started the season in Budaörs and won a bronze medal in Euro 2024 for Hungary.
– We are obviously pleased with Nadine’s arrival, even more so at this time of year. We had received a lot of offers from agents, but we couldn’t find the profile we were looking for. An experienced player who had already played in the Champions League, and who, incidentally, had the opportunity to win it, says the coach Emmanuel Mayonnade to Metz website.
Having played for both Ferencvaros and Györi ETO KC, Szöllösi-Schatzl has a cv with almost 400 goals in Champions League games since 2013.
– I’m really happy. It’s a special situation, but at the same time, I’m looking forward to starting this new adventure with Metz. They’re a very good team with excellent players, she says to the club webpage.
Hungarian teammates Zsófi Szemerey and Petra Vamos await Szöllösi-Schatzl in Metz, easing the adaptation to the new club.
