Marketa Jerabkova moves to Odense

Marketa Jerabkova has found a new club within Denmark. Odense HB provides a sportive challenge, considering the capacity of the Czech national player.

The transfer from Ikast HB was a well-known rumour before the official confirmation arrived from the club. Odense certainly makes a statement pointing out that a two-time Champions League winner (Vipers Kristiansand, 2022 and 203) has joined the squad.

– I´m happy and proud of becoming a part of a great club as Odense Handball. This season, they have proven themselves as one of the four best clubs in EHF Champions League, which I´m also personally looking forward to play, she says to the club website.

The prominent left back left Czech Republic club wise in 2020 and Odense will become her fourth international club.

During the spring season, Jerabkova experienced tragic events, losing her unborn child during pregnancy.

The deal with Odense lasts for two years. According to TV2, Ikast exploited a clause in the contract to reduce costs on the pay roll.

– When Markéta is at her best, she is an absolute top player, which we have seen on several occasions both in Vipers and most recently in Ikast. Her achievements, including EHF Champions League titles and Final4 MVP, speak for themselves, and we are sure that she will be an important factor for us in the coming seasons, says Odense CEO Lasse Honoré to the club webpage.
