Laura Flippes, back court star for Metz HB and the French national team, takes a break from handball. The 30-year-old is expecting twins, according to Handnews.
Metz beat Merignac in the French league Wednesday evening. Afterwards there was further reasons than the victory to celebrate, Flippes announced the happy news with the teammates.
– I am very happy to have been able to play my last match in the Champions League quarter-final, but now I have to take care of myself and us. This is a new adventure that awaits us and that will change many things in our lives, she said in a statement from the club according to Handnews.
Metz is approaching Final four in Champions League and the final part of the season to capture the title in LFH.
Meanwhile, Flippes will take care of the extended family with an expected return to the elite career next spring.
Flippes has a contract until 2027 with Metz.
