Issues with the right shoulder has been a trouble for Kristin Venn during several years. The solid left wing player in Storhamar HB has to abandon the 2025/26 plans for an operation. The Champions League club acts quickly and has signed Veronika Mala.
A dislocated shoulder and a repeated course of damage stops Venn from taking a part for Storhamar during the upcoming season. As it happened for the fourth time since the spring of 2023 the approach is different and the 31-year-old awaits surgery.
– It was different this time. I tried to train a little more, when the shoulder went back on its own, but noticed that something was different, it felt loose and it felt like something was stuck. I realized that now it’s not going to work anymore, she says to the club webpage.
Storhamar brings Veronika Mala from the crisis club of HB Ludwigsburg to take over on the position.
– First of all, all of us in Storhamar are extremely sorry on behalf of Kristin. We wish her good luck with the operation and the rehabilitation period.
– Now we have been both lucky and skilled and have brought in a replacement for Kristin very quickly after her shoulder dislocated again. Veronika Malá is a ball artist of another world and one of the greatest circus artists in European top handball, Storhamar´s coach Kenneth Gabrielsen continues to the club webpage.
Mala adds three seasons of CL experience and reached the final with Ludwigsburg in 2024.
