CL: Metz still unbeaten

The CL Sunday saw mostly group A action when Metz HB continued on the right path and Team Esbjerg plus Borussia Dortmund could cheer for their first wins. Ikast HB got the better of Krim Ljubljana, 27–25 in the B group duel.

Metz is still as strong, trailing Györ with maximum points after three rounds. Johanna Bundsen shone in the beginning, allowing the guests a 5-0-lead over Gloria Bistrita. Metz kept their cool in a period where the defense struggled but ruled with an overcapacity in the attacks, the pivot Sarah Bouktit couldn’t be stopped with seven goals.

Team Esbjerg had some ups and downs but concluded the effort with much needed two points against Storhamar HB. Henny Reistad and Tabea Schmid powered through in the nordic derby, scoring 17 of Esbjerg´s 30 goals.

Dortmund completed a hard fought victory when Alina Grijseels (nine goals) found the net with 28–26. Debrecen proved tough competition but the red card on Jovana Jovovic drew some energy away from the Hungarian team during the final 15 minutes.

Amalie Milling was the player of the match as Ikast defeated Krim. The goalkeeper and newcomer has definitely added to the capacity of the team and t17 saves put Ikast in charge of the game. Another addition, Beatrice Edwige appeared solid in the defense and Ikast could control the match, despite several attempts from Krim actually getting closer but never tied.
