With some thanks to CSM Bucharest, Storhamar captured the last playoff spot despite a final round loss. Meanwhile, Gloria Bistrita reached zero points in the Romanian duel and ends the season after the CL group stage.
Crina Pintea´s contínuos good shape was one of the bullet points when CSM Bucharest ran away from Gloria Bistrita. The contender had no chance to repeat the win from the autumn derby and brings six points from the season. CSM Bucharest also applied great goalkeeping by Gabriela Moreschi to reach third place.
Bucharest´s triumph took a lot of pressure away from Storhamar. On the near impossible journey to threaten Metz, Storhamar only managed 20 goals in a low-paced-game. The French champion won 13 of 14 group games and remains unbeaten waiting for a quarterfinal opponent.
Krim Ljubljana made it to the top half and shut down Podravka Vegeta´s hope to advance in the table. Jovana Radicevic was a solid force with nine right wing goals for the winning team. A penalty and a successful conversion after a time out by the home star decided the game, 30–29 to Krim.
Metz and Ferencvaros grabbed the two quarterfinal spot – Bucharest, Krim, Podravka Vegeta and Storhamar will be back for the play-off.
