A huge gap speaks to CSM´s advantage half-way in the capital duel. Brest Bretagne lost but managed to keep the numbers down in Podravka Vegeta´s home ground.
CSM Bucharest has performed in CL quarterfinal four years in a row and 2024/25 should be no exception. Cristina Neagu´s final campaign took down city rival Rapid with a two-digit margin and the key player produced nine goals.
Estavana Polman tried to limit the damage but six goals on roughly twice as many effort wasn’t enough to rock the boat. CSM provided solid defense and acted with patience to control the game.
Neither Podravka Vegeta or Brest Bretagne could pull away in a tight Saturday match-up. Brest allowed Anna Vyakhireva plenty of one-on-one duels with the Croatian defense and Matea Pletikosic hit the mark eight times for Podravka. One of which was the buzzerbeater who secured the 27–26-win.
