Budapest the place be to for Final four until 2027

MVM Dome in Budapest sets the stage for three more years of Final four action in Champions League. EHF announces an extension of the deal with the local organisers.

The Hungarian capital has arranged the title duel since 2014. Two years ago a local move, from Papp László Budapest Sportaréna to the newly opened MVM Dome meant that even more fans could follow the games on site.

Last year, 20,022 spectators attended the semi-final and final matches leading up to Vipers Kristiansand´s success. The 2024 event is coming this weekend, with Györi ETO KC, Team Esbjerg, SG BBM Bietigheim and Metz HB playing for medals Saturday and Sunday.

– The new joint agreement until 2027 is an important step for the further development of women’s handball. Since 2014 we have elevated the sport to new heights and have given it the platform and exposure it deserves.

– Staying in Budapest and at the MVM Dome for three more years now provides the opportunity for the EHF and EHF Marketing and its trusted partner at the HHF and NEMA to develop it further and cement the event’s status as the European ‘must-visit-event’ for women’s indoor sports, says EHF president Michael Wiederer to eurohandball.com.
